Autumn Glory

Arisaig

After an overnighter at Bunroy, one of our favourite sites near Spean Bridge, it was on to Arisaig, only about 40 miles further. The weather was definitely on our side, and the views were spectacular all the way. Lunch stop at the disappointing Shellfish Shack outside Arisaig hotel, and a pleasant wander around the marina, where they sell the most divine hot chocolate topped off with whipped cream and an After Eight chocolate that more than made up for the mediocre crab bisque I’d had only half an hour before. Remember when After Eights were the epitome of elegance? The seventies equivalent of “You spoil me, Mr Ambassador”!! Even better, remember Stanley Baxter’s “After Eight Mince”??!!😂😂😂

The campsite is only 2miles out of Arisaig and lived up to its promise. Our pitch is right on the seashore❤️

Got to campsite just in time to catch a glimpse of The Jacobite steam train as it lapped the miles
